New Haven- Golf Tournament

Great futures start at the Boys & Girls Club.

The club is a safe place for kids… a place where they can have fun, be free to dream of the future and work to make those dreams come true.

Our dedicated staff strives to provide a worldclass Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship and living a healthy lifestyle.

By sponsoring or playing in this year’s golf tournament, you will become part of a winning team – the Kids, the Club and You – working together to brighten their lives – today and tomorrow.

At the Boys & Girls Club of New Haven, the young people and families we serve are the heart and soul of our work. Each day, our passionate and dedicated team gives their heart and soul, working tirelessly to ensure that we support all children, especially those who need us most. As one of the oldest youth serving organizations in New Haven, we are the heart and soul of the community.
BGCNH Heart & Soul
On June 4, 2014, the Boys & Girls Club of New Haven invite you to join us for a very special evening. Heart & Soul, our 11th Annual Wine & Jazz fundraiser at the New Haven Lawn Club. This year our event will feature the soulful sounds of Motown brought to life by New Haven’s own, Deborah Bond and some of New Haven’s best young musicians. The night will also feature award winning food and wine, incredible art, a silent auction and much more! The money raised at this event will help the Club open our doors to great futures each day for our community’s most vulnerable young people.

Young people need to know that someone cares about them. The Boys & Girls Club of New Haven offers that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys & girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

A very successful 3-on-3 Corporate Basketball Challenge, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their generous donations during our 3-on-3 Corporate Basketball Challenge. Thanks to your sponsorship, community members were able to win an Apple TV and an iPad mini. We were also able to provide family members and friends in attendance food, refreshments and entertainment. As the day went on, the players intensified their game on the court and the real challenge began! This event would not have been a success with out you all.

The Boys & Girls Club kickstarted the week with a Motivating & Mentoring through Dance workshop led by Contra-Tiempo.  Based in LA, Contra-Tiempo is a dance company that strives to transform the world through dance. Using salsa and afro-cuban inspired music, the dancers lead club members to let go of their insecurities and have fun. For 1 hour youth members and staff learned a mixture of dances from 3 different cultures.

Although members began the workshop shy and uptight, after an icebreaker they were eager to learn new moves. Besides dancing, the kids learned the difference between being a leader and when to take direction. Some people are good at leading one part of a dance while others are better at following steps. Through trial and error, they were able to figure out what worked best for them.
