After School Education Programs



Our After School Education Programs are a comprehensive educational and enrichment program for children ages 5 to 14 years providing a safe and positve place for out-of-school hours. Evidence based programs include:
 
Power Hour - “Making Minutes Count” helps members between the ages of 6 and 17 be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring while encouraging them to become self-directed learners. This interactive homework assistance program helps young people come to view homework as an opportunity to learn to work independently, complete projects in a timely manner, and feel positive about their academic accomplishments
 
 
Smart Moves -   focuses on building self-esteem, positive social skills and the skills to avoid drugs and other harmful influences. It is a creative, fun learning experience that provides girls and boys with the knowledge and skills they need to grow into confident, healthy teenagers and realize their full potential.
 
 
Triple Play - Challenge members to become healthy and active by learning new ways to eat nutritionally, manage stress, maintain physical fitness and form poitive relationships with peers. The program consciously incorporates elements of belonging, competence, usefulness and influence.  
 
 
 
Americorps - AmeriCorps is an opportunity to make a big difference in your life and in the lives of those around you.
